The Library encourages gifts of useful materials with the understanding that the Dean determines their ultimate disposition.   Legally the library cannot provide official appraisals of gifts for tax or inheritance purposes.

The library does not ordinarily collect:

Textbooks

Books with notations or markings in the text or margins

Books with personal inscriptions to the donors

Paperback fiction

Items with worn bindings or torn pages

Dated materials
