STUDENTS FROM THE COLLEGE OF NEW ROCHELLE
SUPPORT LOBBY DAY IN STATE CAPITAL



New York, NY, February 10, 2005 - Students from The College of New Rochelle’s School of Arts & Sciences and School of New Resources joined a thousand students in Albany at the Council for Independent Colleges and Universities (cIcu)-sponsored Lobby Day. The students, who represented dozens of colleges and universities throughout the state, met with various state legislators to discuss issues affecting their pursuit of a college degree. 

The CNR students met with: Assemblywoman Carmen Arroyo, who graduated from CNR’s John Cardinal O’Connor Campus; Assemblyman George Latimer, who represents CNR’s New Rochelle Campus; Assemblyman Michael Benedetto, who represents CNR’s Co-op City Campus; Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson, who represents CNR’s Co-op City Campus; and Assemblywoman Annette Robinson, who represents CNR’s Brooklyn Campus.

New Rochelle resident Terri Eberle Boyle, Director of Government Relations at CNR, was joined at Lobby Day by the following students:

The first Catholic college for women in New York State, The College of New Rochelle was founded in 1904 by the Ursuline Order. Today, it comprises the all-women School of Arts & Sciences, and three schools which admit women and men: the School of New Resources (for adult learners), the School of Nursing and the Graduate School.  The main campus of the College is located in lower Westchester County, 16 miles north of New York City.  The College maintains six other campus locations in New York City.
