CNR’S KRISTEN FERRANTI
NAMED 2008 HVWAC SWIMMING COACH OF THE YEAR

NEW ROCHELLE, NY,
January 5, 2009 – Kristen Ferranti,
The College of New Rochelle’s (CNR) Blue Angel’s swimming coach, has
been named the 2008 Swimming Coach of the Year by the Hudson Valley
Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC). Criteria for the HVWAC’s Coach of
the Year honor includes outstanding success during the current season,
demonstrated significant team improvement from the prior season and a
high level of professionalism, integrity and sport knowledge.
Ferranti, a Bronxville resident, attended the Ursuline School in New
Rochelle before earning her BA in Communications from Marist College,
where she was a Division I Scholarship winner in swimming and water
polo. While at Marist, Ferranti was named a Marist College and Metro
Atlantic Athletic Conference Champion in the 200 Freestyle. She is
currently pursuing a master’s degree in Special Education/Elementary
Education at CNR.
“Kristen is an outstanding swim coach and we are fortunate to have her
here at CNR,” says Harold Crocker, Director of Intercollegiate
Athletics at CNR. “Her enthusiasm, talent and professionalism have
positively enhanced the program and the team.”
