Janet E. Heed
earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in
English from the College of Mount Saint Vincent and her Masters in
Teaching Degree from Iona College. Then in 2004, she earned her
Professional Diploma in Educational Administration from The College of
New Rochelle. A former teacher at St. Barnabas School in the
Bronx,
and Immaculate Conception School in Tuckahoe, she was for six years the
principal of Our Lady of Victory School in Mount Vernon, New
York.
Since 2006, she has been the Assistant Superintendent for the
Archdiocese of New York, working with the Superintendent of Schools in
the implementation of Interparochial Catholic Educational Communities,
a new governance initiative for Schools, assisting in the preparation
of by-laws, administrative plans and promotional materials. This
initiative is designed to strengthen elementary schools in the
Archdiocese. A mother of three, she and her family live in Crestwood,
New York.
