"I considered many colleges that would be closer to my home, but when I visited CNR, I immediately felt: this is where I belong. Everything about the campus was warm and inviting. And it is such a beautiful campus. I just love to walk across the lawns on my way to class."

What class is your favorite, Angela?

Well, either Business or Communications. I like them both.

Of all the CNR professors you’ve had, who are your favorites?

I have two favorite professors. I took classes from Professor Lopresiti last year and I just loved the way she brought everyday life into the classroom. Also, in Communications, I had Dr. Zimmer. She was so much fun in the class and always available to talk with outside of class.

What was one of your favorite classes?

One of my favorite classes would probably have to be Newswriting with Dr. Roxanne Zimmer. I wasn't sure of my abilities to report and write a news article prior to taking this course, but now I feel more comfortable and even enjoy it. Dr. Zimmer encouraged the class to submit finished work to Tatler, the school's newspaper. After submitting my articles, I was really excited to find out that a few were actually published! Even though I finished the course, I still enjoy writing, and this year I am on the Tatler staff.

Angela, last year you were part of an special living arrangement in Bresica Hall, is that right?

Yes, I was in the First Year Experience Wing of Brescia Hall. This was the first year that CNR had the FYE wings. I thought it was a great experience because we really got to know one another being that we were all in the same situation as first-year college students. We became so close that I consider these girls like my family. I also met many upperclassmen because they always liked to visit the freshmen, which was always nice. We also had FYE lounges and study rooms, which were a great place to go to spend time with other freshmen. Because the FYE wings were so successful, CNR has extended their programming to sophomores, with the Sophomore Success Wing in Ursula Hall.

How have you been involved at CNR outside of your studies?

I’ve had some great jobs since coming to the College. Last year, for example, I had a work study opportunity off campus as a student teacher through America Reads. I also worked as a residence hall receptionist, which was a lot of fun because you know what’s going on with everything. And next year I plan on lifeguarding at the new Wellness Center.

Angela, do you know where you are headed after graduation?

I’m not sure where I’m headed, but I know my dream job is to someday work for Conde Nast Publications. And then, one day, I want to own my own business.
