THE COLLEGE OF NEW
ROCHELLE PRESENTS “BRIDGES”
WORKS
BY GRACE POWERS FRAIOLI

New Rochelle, NY, August
13, 2008 – “BRIDGES,” a solo
exhibit of clay and ceramic works by artist Grace Powers Fraioli, will be on
display at The College of New Rochelle’s (CNR) Mooney Center Exhibit
Hall from Thursday, August 28, through Monday, September 22, 2008, with
an opening reception to take place on Sunday, September 14, from 1:00
to 3:00 pm. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the
public.
“BRIDGES connect us from
one place to another, from one culture to another, and from one world
into the next,” says the artist. “We all come from clay and eventually
we will return to clay. There is a spirit that exists in the
creation, a closeness working with clay that is truly unique, a feeling
of past being and the relationship of time to God's eternal powers.”
Fraioli, who holds a BFA in
Art Education and an MA in Studio Art from CNR, teaches art and
ceramics at New Rochelle High School. Her work will also be featured in
Beyond Bio: Clay Bodies, the opening exhibit of CNR’s Castle Gallery’s
2008-09 season.
The Mooney Center Exhibit
Hall is located at The College of New Rochelle, 29 Castle Place in New
Rochelle, NY 10805. Hours: Monday-Thursday from 9 am
to 9 pm, Friday, Saturday and Sundays from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.
