NEW ROCHELLE, NY, June 4, 2007 -– For the fourth
consecutive year, The College of New Rochelle’s (CNR) School of Arts
& Sciences’ (SAS) Art Department will offer an intense Summer Art
Portfolio Workshop, designed for high school students (sophomores,
juniors, seniors and recent graduates) who want to develop a strong
college admissions portfolio. The workshop will teach students how to
improve their studio art skills in drawing, painting and sculpture;
develop a theme for a series; address issues related to studying art
and design in college; and prepare for a career in visual arts.
Homework assignments will be challenging and assigned on a regular
basis.
The workshop will take place at the College’s Main
Campus in New Rochelle from June 25 through July 20 on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9 am to 12 noon. (No classes are scheduled
on July 4 and 6.) Tuition is $375 per student and is due in full
by June 21. All tuition must be prepaid before the first class
begins. Students provide their own art supplies. A list of
required and recommended materials will be handed out on the first day
of class; expenses will not exceed $75. No refunds will be given
once the workshop begins.
Space is limited and enrollment is on a “first come
first serve” basis. The registration deadline is Thursday, June
