THE COLLEGE OF NEW ROCHELLE TO OFFER SUMMER
ART PORTFOLIO WORKSHOP FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

NEW ROCHELLE, NY, April 12, 2004 -– The Art Department in the School of Arts & Sciences (SAS) at The College of New Rochelle (CNR) will again offer an intense two week summer art workshop for high school students (sophomores, juniors, seniors and recent graduates).  Designed for those who want to develop a strong college admissions portfolio, the workshop will teach students how to improve their studio art skills in drawing, painting and sculpture; address issues related to studying art and design in college; and prepare for a career in visual arts.  The course contains college level work and challenging homework assignments.

Ms. Katrina Rhein will be the visiting instructor.  A 2002 graduate of SAS, Ms. Rhein is currently a candidate for a Master of Fine Arts degree at Queens College.

The entire workshop will take place at the College’s main campus in New Rochelle weekdays from 9 am to 12 noon from Monday, June 28 through Tuesday, July 13.  (No classes are scheduled on July 5.)  The tuition per student is $375.  Early birds who register by June 1 will only be charged $300.  Tuition must be prepaid before the first class begins.

Students provide their own art supplies.  A list of required and recommended materials will be handed out on the first day of class; expenses will not exceed $75.  No refunds will be given once the workshop begins.
