NEW ROCHELLE RESIDENT ANGELA CASCARANO
NOMINATED FOR SECOND NEW YORK EMMY AWARD

NEW ROCHELLE, NY, March 23, 2004 --The College of New Rochelle (CNR) today announced that Angela Cascarano, a 2001 graduate of the School of Arts & Sciences, has been nominated for her second Emmy Award in the Business/Consumer Programming Category for a segment exposing a work from home job scam stuffing envelopes.  She is nominated along with her colleagues John Deutzman, Vincent Mariani, Alan Lesner, and Raymond Parisi.  The National Television Academy's 47th Annual New York Emmy Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, March 28, at The Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

Ms. Cascarano, an Associate Producer in The Problem Solvers unit at Fox 5 News, received her first Emmy in 2003 for a segment that exposed a fake rabbi performing wedding ceremonies for hundreds of unsuspecting couples.  Her second nomination is for another investigative journalism piece broadcast on November 6, 2002 that looked into one of many business opportunities that promised paychecks of more than $500 a week stuffing envelopes.  When confronted by reporter, John Deutzman, the owner of this alleged company decided to shut down his business.  The Problem Solvers were able to get a full refund for the victims who originally alerted them to the scam.
