CNR’S 68TH ANNUAL
ALUMNAE/I COLLEGE WEEKEND
CNR celebrated
its 68th annual Alumnae/i College Reunion over
the June 9-11 weekend. Over 350 graduates of The College of New
Rochelle
returned to campus for a weekend of fun and remembrances.
Guest speaker
for the weekend was Daniel P.
Sulmasy, O.F.M., M.D., Ph.D. Dr. Sulmasy, a Franciscan Friar,
holds
the Sisters
of Charity Chair in Ethics at St. Vincent’s Hospital (Manhattan),
and serves as Professor of Medicine and Director of the Bioethics
Institute at New York
Medical College.
Dr. Sulmasy spoke on the topic, “What is an
Ethicist?”
CNR alumnae/i
who
have graduated in a year ending in a one or six, starting with the
Class of
1931, were special guests for the weekend. And the Class
of 1956 celebrated their Golden Anniversary.
Twenty-four
alumnae were presented with Ursula Laurus, Angela Merici, and Women of
Achievement Awards by President Sweeny in Holy Family Chapel.
In
honor of the weekend, the College’s Castle Gallery director, Jennifer
Zazo, and
Gallery coordinator, Katrina Rhein,
working with the Office of Alumnae/i Relations, prepared a special
showing of past
issues of Annales, the
College’s yearbook,
and banners of the classes ending in ones and sixes that were on
display in the
Mooney Center Gallery for the weekend.
