DEAN'S
MESSAGE
Education
is the foundation of hope for this country, and for the future
of the world. Now, more than ever, it is necessary for
education to be available for all who wish to learn, especially
for the non-traditional and adult student. The School
of New Resources has long been a leader in adult higher education,
with a program which provides accessibility through six campuses.
Our liberal arts program is tailored to the needs of the adult
learner. We encourage our students to use their rich life
experiences, along with our seminars and ACCESS (Adult Career
Counseling: Education Support Services) to develop into leaders
and mainstays of their communities.
Today, a degree
alone is not enough; through a liberal arts education, one learns
to think, to be analytical, to acquire the wisdom to make conscientious
and sound decisions. We at the School of New Resources strive
to provide, not just an education and a degree, but a quality education
that instills a love of life long learning, and the desire to give back
to our communities and to those who will follow in our paths. Our
students go on to reach their goals, to attain higher degrees, and to find
rewarding jobs. With the tools provided to them through our course
of study, they can make a difference in today’s world. Therefore,
it is our hope to inspire our adult learners to act out on the sage advice
of Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Do not follow where the path may lead, go,
instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.”
